Catering Assistant/Cook

This is a Permanent, Full Time vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

We currently have an opportunity for a Canteen Assistant/Cook to join our Facilities Department working out of our recently refurbished kitchens at Acorn's Steeton Head Offices.

Reporting to the Canteen Team Leader you will be working in the kitchen and front of house, to deliver delicious, high quality breakfast and lunch options to our factory, field and office employees. Assisting with the day-to-day operations of the catering facilities, working in line with internal and external requirements.

Salary: £26,500.00 DOE

Working hours: Monday to Friday- 07:30am - 16.00pm (This is a full time position (40 hours) with no weekend or evening working required)

Key Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of catering, including food safety practices and regulations
  • Catering qualification or equivalent experience
  • Excellent culinary skills and customer service
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment
  • Strong communication skills and team player

Skills and experience:

  • Enthusiastic and passionate, with a proactive attitude, ideas, and drive
  • Good knowledge of cooking and commercial kitchens
  • Comfortable with menu planning
  • Skilled in ordering stock
  • Able to maintain a clean and organised environment
  • Ensure full compliance with food safety procedures
