Join our team at Acorn as a Logistics Stock Controller based at our head office in Steeton, West Yorkshire.

You’ll play a key role in managing stock for our UK and European engineers, ensuring everything runs smoothly through stock audits, training, and resolving discrepancies.

Type of Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: £26,500 P/A
Working Hours (when in office): Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4.30pm (flexible)

(The majority is the position is based in the office, especially the initial few months whilst training)

*** THIS ROLE WILL REQUIRE A LEVEL OF FLEXIBILITY FOR TRAVELLING/OVERNIGHT STAYS TO EUROPE FOR STOCK MANAGEMENT IF/WHEN REQUIRED ***

Key responsibilities include:

  • Plan and Coordinate stock audits for UK engineers - spot checks/counts in the field
  • Complete stock takes for leavers
  • Provide system training for logistics tasks and stock management training for new starters/underperforming engineers
  • Complete trailers inventory count
  • Reconcile completed stock takes by compiling data from in-house systems
  • Investigate discrepancies using available reports
  • Submit feedback/report to supervisor with regards to stock related issues
  • Record and monitor stock management by engineers
  • Provide telephone support to logistics system users
  • Coordinating with the Fleet department for van collections
  • Chase outstanding returns with relevant departments
  • Correct any incorrect returns on the systems

Additional Information: 

  • The majority is the position is based in the office, especially the initial few months whilst training
  • This role will require a level of flexibility for travelling/overnight stays to Europe for stock management if/when required.

Skills and Experience:

  • Must hold full UK Driving Licence
  • Computer literate (experience using spreadsheets)
  • Administration
  • Experience of a similar role (desirable)
  • Foreign language speaker (French, German, Italian) would be beneficial but not necessary
  • Knowledge of European geography (would be beneficial but not necessary)
